The modern chick transport vehicle is a marvel of specialised engineering. Typically, you'll find a combination of ventilation fans and skylights for fresh air exchange, shutters on the doors for controlled airflow, a Truck Refrigeration System mounted on the front panel, and crucially, a heating system integrated into the floor—rather like underfloor heating in a posh London flat. This ensures warmth rises gently from below. The result? In summer, the system cools and ventilates; in winter, it maintains a cosy warmth. This dramatically improves survival rates and gives the driver considerable peace of mind. The driver simply sets the desired temperature on the cab's operating panel, and the cabin manages the rest—automatically regulating temperature, ventilation, and maintaining perfect conditions. These vehicles are thoughtfully designed. Side panels incorporate multiple ventilation windows with fine mesh, preventing escapes while ensuring airflow. Roof and tailgate-mounted electronic exhaust fans actively prevent the accumulation of harmful carbon dioxide. Inside, mounted shelves and folding shelves reduce the stacking height of chick boxes, preventing the poor little things from being crushed. It's all about creating a safe, comfortable environment for the journey.

Enter the KingClima K-980: Engineered for Live Cargo

We recently exported our K-980 Truck Refrigeration System to a client in Southeast Asia, specifically for use in a chick transport vehicle with a cargo box measuring approximately 21 by 7 by 7 feet. The required temperature was a rather precise +27°C—warm enough for comfort, cool enough for health.

The K-980 is ideally suited to this demanding role. It's equipped with four powerful fans that effectively circulate air and maintain uniform temperatures throughout the container. Crucially, for live cargo, it incorporates a comprehensive heating system alongside its cooling capabilities. A built-in humidity probe constantly monitors the air conditions inside the vehicle, providing real-time data to the control system.

Perhaps most ingeniously, the system can be integrated with a humidifying and cooling water curtain. This uses a water circulation system to cool and humidify the air when conditions require it—essential for maintaining chick health in hot, dry climates. Additionally, the front panel of the vehicle can be fitted with sliding windows and waterproof shutters, allowing fresh air to be introduced via a controlled air duct system while preventing harsh drafts from chilling the cargo. This thoughtful design ensures stable internal temperatures and significantly boosts chick survival rates.

While the K-980 excels at poultry transport, its capabilities extend far beyond. A refrigerated truck fitted with this unit becomes a remarkably versatile asset. It serves admirably as a:
